Developing SELF… this is a habit that must be maintained and cultivated daily and consistently. I have figured something out… there is no end date on self-development. Success isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. Once we decide to conquer our fears and live in courage, we move past that zone of comfort and into unlimited opportunities. Courage is being afraid, but doing it anyway. Do not focus on the fears, rather focus on reprogramming your thoughts, which changes your feelings, then your actions… and THAT will get you to your goals – your results.
At the end of July, I made a conscious decision and a commitment to get better and better everyday. That’s a conscious decision to be successful everyday. Every morning when I wake up I make a conscious decision to get out of bed, put on my work-out clothes and get downstairs to exercise. That is a conscious decision that I made on July 27th, 2016, and have continued daily ever since.
The other thing I have done daily since making that commitment is listen to motivational messages, or read 10-15 pages of something positive, that empowers me. This has changed my mindset drastically. Rather than make excuses and cast blame for my actions, or inaction, I take ownership of it, and use it to consciously get better each day.
Upgrading my relationships has be another key in increasing my success and value. I have had to cast a vision for myself and where I want to be, and then surround myself with people that are already where I want to be. Align myself with people that are better than me, more successful than me.
What I have found during this journey is that there is way more out there than I ever imagined! The more I expand and stretch myself, the more I learn about the possibilities. If someone else is there, then I can be too. I just have to figure out what it is within me that is keeping me from getting there and conquer that. The world is wide open!
Finally, goals! Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. (I think Tony Robbins said that.) If we don’t have goals we have no road map to get where we want to arrive. And if we’ve arrived at the original destination, don’t stop there – where is the next destination? Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Declare them, WRITE them and READ them 3 times a day. Just like it says in the Bible, “ask and it will be given…” Consistent and persistent action towards our goals will get us there.
Remember, I said it’s a journey.
Some things we need for daily success…
- 5-10 minutes of quiet time (no distractions)
- 10-30 minute walk (stimulate the creative centers in your brain)
- Stay hydrated with alkaline (pH 8.5) water (1L/50 pounds body weight daily)
- Listen to motivational messages everyday that empower you.
- Read 10-15 pages of something positive everyday.
- Upgrade your relationships.
- Write down your goals and read them daily.
In order to be successful, we must be willing to do the things TODAY that others won’t do. Your mind is a machine. Program yourself for success.
“Program your mind or your mind will program you.” – Les Brown
We become what we think about.
All of us are self made, but only the successful will admit it.
I pray this brought value to your life today, connect with me and let me know.
